Why is COLOR important? How does the significance of color effect our day today lives?
In Hindu mythology, color play an important role in the religion and culture and has a significance transcending deep values. Some of the colors that are used in religious hindu ceremonies are red, yellow (turmeric), green, white etc. You can choose your clothes and jewelry based on the significance of color and how you associate with them.
Red - Red in hindu religion is of utmost significance and is predominantly used for marriages, child birth and any other auspicious occasions. Red is considered as the color of shakti (prowess). Red also signifies charity, bravery, protectiveness, ability to destroy evil.
Saffron - symbolizes purity. Saffron also represents religious abstinence. It is a pure color of holy men and aesthetics who have renounced the world. Saffron is for those who have a quest for light.
Green - symbolizes peace and happiness. Wearing green also stabilizes the mind. Green color is cool and soothing to the eyes and represents nature.
Yellow - is the color of knowledge and learning. Yellow signifies happiness, peace, meditation, competence and mental development. Yellow is considered as the color of spring that activates the mind. Wearing yellow is a representation of knowledge.
White - is a result of all seven color hence has a little bit of characteristics of each. White signifies purity, cleanliness, knowledge and peace.
Blue - symbolizes bravery, manliness, determination, the ability to deal with difficult situations and a stable mind and depth of character.
